Our Work Groups

About Work Groups (And how to start one)

Especially since TB anywhere is TB everywhere, it's going to take a wide range of activities and approaches to #EndTB. Our work groups tackle one aspect of the problem with meetings ranging from twice weekly to monthly.

You do not have to be a coordinating board member or officer to join or even create your own work group.

Have an idea to help #EndTB? Email us a description/proposal at leadership@stoptbusa.org!

Academic Detailing Work Group

With TB on the rise, more primary care providers are having to deal with this deadly foe. The Academic Detailing Work Group has launched the first TB Champions Network in Kansas and Iowa to serve as information hubs and peer advisors for any clinician facing TB for the first time. In partnership with the Mayo Clinic Center for Tuberculosis, trainees receive excellent preparation as well as staying connected with their fellow trainees via a cohort Whatsapp group.

Government relations Work Group

Government relations Work Group

As one of the only non-profit organizations dedicated to advocacy around #TBelimination, we know every voice counts! Our elected officials hold the purse and policy strings needed to make research and technology progress. Uniting our voices makes our message more likely to be heard and acted on.

Media Work Group

Government relations Work Group

The TB Media Advocacy Work Group empowers advocates to raise awareness about tuberculosis (TB) through strategic media engagement. We provide training on writing letters to the editor, op-eds, and other media tools to amplify TB advocacy efforts. Our group also publishes a monthly TB news digest, keeping stakeholders informed on policy updates, research, and global TB efforts. Through media outreach and storytelling, we work to elevate TB as a public health priority.

Medicare Coverage Work Group

Committed to improving Medicare coverage for tuberculosis (TB) care through policy reform and advocacy, we collaborate with healthcare professionals, policymakers, and public health advocates to address coverage gaps, expand access to treatment, and ensure Medicare beneficiaries receive comprehensive TB care. Through research, stakeholder engagement, and legislative efforts, we work to strengthen Medicare’s role in the fight against TB.

Pharmacy work group

Active from 2021 to 2024, the Pharmacy Work Group investigated ways for pharmacists to help #EndTB and worked in coalition to spread the word about TB drug shortages. We are currently seeking a new Chair to continue this great start. Please email leadership@stopusa.org if interested.

TB and Nutrition Work Group

Given consistent evidence that undernutrition worsens TB treatment outcomes, the TB and Nutrition Work Group works to advance practical, person-first standards across federal, state, and local programs. We welcome those from all clinical, programmatic, research, advocacy, and lived-experience backgrounds.

Wikipedia Work Group

With over 163,000 visits per month, it is important to get accurate, up-to-date information to the public. There is plenty to be done whether or not you can attend the bi-weekly meetings. Interested? Email: leadership@stoptbusa.org

Youth Leadership Board

Youth Leadership Board

TB Not Tomorrow is going to require a new generation of TB Advocates: Complementing the lived and professional experience of our coordinating board are high school and college students dedicated to helping to #EndTB. Interested in joining?  Send an email to: leadership@stoptbusa.org
